The new Crain Volkswagen in Fayetteville, Arkansas, celebrated its Grand opening on April 24, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the Fayetteville Chamber and representatives of Volkswagen of North America.

“The building turned out spectacular,” said Scott Bell, Regional Vice President of Volkswagen of North America. “We are ecstatic to have such a great facility in Northwest Arkansas to sell a ton of Volkswagens.”

The beautiful new facility had a soft open a month earlier as Harco Constructors delivered the building to the Crain Automotive Team in time to sell cars March 28, 2017. The groundbreaking ceremony was held August 1, 2016, with work beginning in earnest August 15.

Chris Crain took a moment to thank Dan Chapel, architect, and Ryan Harper, Harco’s project manager for the new VW dealership.

“The pressure was on with this building,” said Harper. “Not only were we striving to meet a tight construction schedule for a project this size, but our superintendent, Harold Baltz, and his team also had to meet exacting Volkswagen design standards.”

Harper and Baltz were the same Harco team that delivered the new Crain Buick GMC in Conway in a short five months. That project has since won an Excellence in Construction award from Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas.

“The quality of work and the time they did it in was unbelievable,” Chris Crain said of the Buick GMC project. “From top to bottom, everybody was great to work with. We are really excited about it.”

Harco has served numerous auto dealers in Arkansas and across the Mid-South region with more than 300 automotive-related construction and renovation projects throughout its 32-year history.

“They really know what we need as a dealer group and they understand how to keep everything moving where we can open as scheduled,” said Drew Dees, Crain Automotive’s Marketing Director. “They are integral partners for us when it comes to new construction projects and renovation projects for any of our dealerships.”
