Harco completes Crain Buick GMC in 20 weeks

October 4, 2016

The all new Crain Buick GMC in Conway, Arkansas, opened for business Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, a mere 20 weeks after Harco Constructors broke ground.

“This is amazing,” said Chris Crain, President of Crain Automotive at a grand opening event held Monday. “I wasn’t sure it would be able to happen in this time. I am amazed.”

The new dealership is a 39,000 square feet facility situated on an eight-acre lot capable of showcasing 550 automobiles.

“Typically a project of this size and scale might take nine months,” said Chuck Harper, Harco president. “Our team has consistently proven it can meet timelines to serve our clients.”

Superintendent Harold Baltz and Project Manager Ryan Harper led the effort to complete the building.

“They were under a tough timeline that General Motors put on us,” said Jay Myers, General Manager of the Crain Buick GMC dealership. “The quality of work and time they did it in was unbelievable.”

Baltz and Ryan Harper previously teamed on Crain Hyundai of Fayetteville. In 2015 they were honored with an Excellence in Construction Award from the Arkansas chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for the Hyundai dealership.

“From top to bottom everybody was great to work with,” said Myers. “We’re really excited about it. We’ll have them do more for us.”

Harco broke ground on Crain Volkswagen of Fayetteville on August 1, 2016. It is set to open in early 2017.
