Permit Acquisition (Phased) • Meet with applicable regulatory agencies and advise of plan of attack • Adhere to regulatory agency requests to maintain schedule • Coordinate response to regulatory agency comments • File for permit • Respond to permit clarification • Acquire • Maintain updated permit during construction
M. Budget Controls • Preliminary budget update • Trend estimate • Detailed estimate • Initial GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) • Final GMP • As design continues, progress from preliminary budget through final GMP • Trend on a weekly basis throughout design and keep the owner informed
N. Value Engineering • Selection of most cost efficient methods, materials, and schedule • Propose throughout design effort and immediately following each formal budget estimate • Value Engineering tracking: o Provide complete list of value engineering ideas and associated estimated cost savings o Categorize ideas and cost savings by type: value engineering , quality, reduction, or quality reduction o Document decision with approval or rejection of ideas o Track the approved value engineering through the design phase
